Course aim
You’ll develop your communication skills to speak in everyday care situations with English speaking patients (e.g. tourists), their relatives, team colleagues and doctors using medical English.

Course contents
Nursing professions, hospital departments, patient admission, monitoring, symptoms, pain, medication, blood, dying and death, hygiene, body parts, accident and emergency department, patient transfers, anatomy etc.
Ask questions, make recommendations, make comparisons, explain nursing processes, give instructions, express empathy, etc.
Basics of colloquial English are repeated, deepened and applied in a nursing context.

1 L = 50 min.
3 L in the afternoon, every 14 days, 5 course days
Number of lessons: 5 x 3 L = 15 L
Course duration: 12 h 30 min.

There is no certificate test for this course.

This course is suitable for you if you have previously studied medical English and have reached English Level A2 or higher in the Free Language Test. The test will be sent to you by mail after registration.
Self-study, such as learning the vocabulary, is especially important in the Refresher Course in order to achieve the course goal and to be able to communicate in English with pleasure.

Free Language Test

  The aim of the Free Language test is to assess your current English language skills. This will allow me to pick you up at your level.
A2 is the ability to formulate simple sentences and to know a small everyday vocabulary.
